Ask & You Will Receive: The Secret

With all the talk of The Secret lately and it’s ever-expanding exposure, I thought perhaps today would be a great day to talk about something equally important to the Law of Attraction.

Remember, the Law of Attraction states that like attracts like. So if you’re focused on not getting what you want, guess what you get? You get what you don’t want.

Why? Because that’s your focus.

But there’s something deeper at play here. It’s you’re underlying vibration. And there’s one thing that can change that.

Gratitude.

Yes, gratitude. Thankfulness. Appreciation.

According to Webster’s Dictionary, gratitude means – “the state of being grateful; thankfulness.”

If we keep going we see that it’s also related to admiration, consideration, honor, and respect, among other things. And it’s a very important component to the Law of Attraction.

Let’s put it this way – suppose you want something new, say for simplicity, you want a new television. You’ve seen those new plasma TV’s and you really like them. You think how great it would look on your living room or family room wall. It’s beautiful!

And then you go into that room and you see your dinky, clunky old TV. Maybe the color is a little off. Maybe the sound isn’t that great anymore. Maybe it’s only a little 13 inch thing. You start to resent it. You start to hate it. You think about how much you hate that damn TV! How you wish you could just throw it out the window!

Wow! You really are sending out that dislike for the TV, aren’t you? And it keeps sitting there, almost to the point of mocking you. You start to think about how much those new plasma sets cost, how you can’t afford it, and you’re stuck with this horrid piece of crap in front of you.

And guess what?

You still have that horrid piece of crap, don’t you?

So, you want that new plasma TV and all you’re thinking about is how awful your current one is. Instead of sending out a vibration that’s a match for what you want, you’re sending out a match for what you DON’T want! You’re telling the Universe you’re not ready for what you DO want!

And the Universe works perfectly every time. It delivers exactly what you’re vibrating – lack and hatred for what you do have.

The key is to be grateful. Be thankful. Find something good about that dinky clunky little 13 inch TV. Even if it’s just a small thing – it works, you can view your favorite programs on it. It’s paid for. It fits on the TV stand just perfectly. It has a remote. Whatever. Just be thankful for something about it.

And as you begin to be happy and thankful for what you have, the Universe will listen. It will hear you. See, the best time to manifest something is when you don’t NEED it. That’s simply because when you NEED something, you come from a place of lack. And when you come from that place, you attract that thing . . . In this case, lack.

Eventually, the Universe will match your vibration of gratitude for your 13 inch television and when you say, “hey, it sure would be nice to have a big 42” inch plasma screen” – what do you think will happen?

The Universe will hear you! It will act on it! And somehow, someway, that plasma screen will be yours.

One more thing to understand here. The how and the when part are not your concern. That part is the job of the Universe. It’s your job to ask and to receive, whatever that entails. So don’t get in the way – ask and receive.

Let the Universe take care of the rest.

Blessings,
Annie

there are so many basics that would have astonished those living 150 years ago. Clean water, relatively clean air, personal safety, decent life span, quality health care.

I echo you calls for a greater appreciation of what we have, and just to be grateful each waking day.
